Michael Vitale
I work in healthcare financial transformation at Guidehouse and studied finance and risk management at UW–Madison. This site collects my consulting and analytics work, finance and risk projects, and tools I have built on my own.
About me
Hi, I'm Michael. I'm from the suburbs of Chicago and graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with degrees in Finance, Investment & Banking and Risk Management & Insurance. I enjoy problems that sit at the intersection of finance, strategy, risk, and analytics – especially when the answer is not obvious and the work requires both quantitative analysis and judgment.
Since graduating, I have started my career at Guidehouse in its financial transformation practice, working with healthcare organizations. At the same time, I have continued building independent analytics and investing projects. My focus in my first role is simple: be a sponge, learn quickly, contribute wherever I can, and knock my project work out of the park.

Selected work
The projects I would point to first. Each page has the question, what I did, the key charts, and the original documents.

Rigby Growth Strategy
A growth plan for a Capitol Square bar: target customers, events, student outreach, promotions and card payments. Client revenue figures redacted.

Snow Hawk E-Scooter Business Case
A go/no-go case for a winter e-scooter: 9.8M-person target market, $750 price, $960K launch cost, GO recommendation.

PhillyCycle Rental Analytics
An analysis of nearly half a million bike rentals to explain ridership patterns, test hypotheses, and identify operating implications across customer segments and seasons.
Hypocom Risk-Financing Case
A group case that simulated a manufacturer’s cash flows under fire, steel-price, competitor, and strike risk, then compared five ways to finance those risks against a $6M free-cash-flow floor.

NVIDIA Equity Research
A Buy recommendation with a $238 scenario-weighted target, built from a driver-based model and six industry conversations.

SPCX Artificial Scarcity Trade
A defined-risk bear put spread on SpaceX’s post-IPO lockup supply, and an honest post-mortem on why the thesis and the contract diverged.

MicroStrategy Convertible Bond Model
A binomial valuation of Strategy’s 2028 convertible, where bitcoin drives both the default risk and the conversion value.

Derivatives & Hedging Trades
Three hedged paper trades (a delta-hedged short SPX put, an MSTR/bitcoin-ETF pair, and an inverse-ETF hedge), logged and reconciled.
